The Swiss TV Program SF1 recently showed the surveying of a traffic accident using a Z+F IMAGER Laser Scanner The Program, Raser überführt, on December 20th 2006, showed the possibilities of using a Laser Scanner to determine the circumstances of a Traffic Accident. Using Z+F Laser Measurement Technology the Swiss Police were able to reconstruct the Accident and from the resulting detailed analysis, determine who was responsible for causing the Accident. In this particular incident the person responsible was identified by the Police and prosecuted. Z+F technology will, without doubt, enable the Police to identify future culprits. Zoller+Froehlich exhibited at Spar 2006 in Houston / USA This year, Z+F also exhibited at Spar 2006 in Houston / USA the third annual Spar Point Research conference that focused on 3D laser scanning technologies - and had its own stand. The theme of the conference was Capturing and Documenting Existing-Conditions Data for Design, Construction and Operations. During the exhibition, representatives from Z+F Germany, UK and USA introduced many of the international visitors to the range of products, which are established within the market. They were also kept informed of current developments of the software and hardware. In particular the visitors were interested in the software packages for Z+FLaserControl and Z+FProjectView. However, the greatest interest was shown in the LFM (Light Form Modeller) innovation of the combination of laser scanning data with colour. One of the highlights at Z+F stand at Spar 2006 was the demonstration, in collaboration with SpheronVR AG, of the combination of Z+F market leading scanner, IMAGER 5003, with SpheronVR 32bit digital panoramic camera. Visitors could see for themselves, in real time, the resulting performance of this combination. The speed, accuracy and quality of the coloured point clouds. This combination of scanner and panoramic camera, is unique in the market. Markus Ehm, product manager of Z+F GmbH said: The co-operation of these two professional companies exceeds everything previously shown in this sector. It emphasizes Z+F exceptional market position in the field of laser scanning. According to Dr. Christoph Froehlich, Managing Director of Z+F GmbH, Germany the company´s position on the market was obviously confirmed by the market analysis carried out by SPAR Point. He said The Spar Point market analysis showed that Z+F hardware comes in third place with approx. 9% of the market share worldwide. If you look alone at the phase-based measurement technique sector, which stands for a very fast and very high-precision surveying in the industrial field, Z+F is the market leader and has a considerable lead over the competitors. According to Dr. Froehlich Z+F was confirmed to be on the right path and to be a competent partner for all companies worldwide. The LFM position in the software sector, especially in the field of programs for data interpretation, is outstanding. It developed to a standard software package for analysing point clouds in the industrial plant sector. Graham Dalton, technical director of Z+F UK Ltd. said: The LFM Server is in an excellent position in the plant sector and offers now, beside AutoCAD and Microstation, also an interface to Intergraph PDS, SmartPlant Review and AVEVA PDMS. During the conference, many customers confirmed the increasing penetration of the hardware and software in the market and were obviously content with the development of the Z+F group. This was also confirmed in many lectures of customers, which use the Z+F products. The fact that many visitors from Europe, in particular Z+F customers, accepted the invitation to come to the USA was very pleasing. Oldenburger 3D Tage in February and Spar 2006 in March were two very successful conferences for Zoller+Froehlich in this interesting year 2006.
